Title IX, Posited by Senator Birch Bayh and Congresswoman Patsy Mink, and passed into law in 1972 demanded equal sports participation rights for girls and women. In recognition of the 50th anniversary of Title IX the New England Basketball Hall of Fame will induct an individual who would have ascended to the highest level of women’s basketball had she been given the chance.

But the law came a decade too late for the admirable Cathie Chasse.

Tim Connolly, former highly respected journalist for the Worcester Telegram, is developing a “Bugle” article on Cathie, including detailing her amazing play and her forthcoming induction.
